Antimony TriOxide Stakeholders

In 2004, a group of antimony producers and users successfully joined
forces to form the Antimony TriOxide Stakeholders (ATOS) group in
order to develop the scientific information needed to carry (di)antimony
trioxide (ATO) through the EU Risk Assessment process. ATOS is
currently sponsored by IAOIA, the PET (PolyEthylene Terephthalate)
industry and PlasticsEurope and supported by user Associations such
as the European Plastics Convertors Association (EuPC), the
International Rayon and Synthetic Fibres Committee (CIRFS), the
European Textiles Industry Association (Euratex) and the Association
of the German and Austrian Man-Made Fibres Industries (IVC).
ATOS has formulated comments addressing several draft Risk
Assessment Reports on antimony trioxide, written by the Swedish
rapporteur, KemI. Many studies have been performed to fill the data
gaps or clarify discussion items on occupational exposure,
environmental toxicity and human health in the Risk Assessment
Report.
